You can sharpen your pocket/skinning knife on the top edge of the car/truck window. Just run it across the window edge like it is a steel.

Wind Checker

Take a piece of yarn about 8" long. Tie it to the top of your radio intenna on your truck. Now fray the last inch or so of it. When you pull up to a set location, you just look up at the yarn and it will tell you what way the wind is blowing before you even get out of the truck! Really speeds up decision making! 



Try wearing a pair of amber shooting glasses when hunting on dull days. The glasses will aid in spotting movement, from cottontails to whitetails, by increasing contrast and brightening the woods.

Skunk Oder Removal
1 quart hydrogen peroxide
1/4 cup baking soda
1 teaspoon liquid dishsoap

When hunting ducks in heavy hunted areas stay away from the feed areas in the early morning and key in on rest areas. Most of the time around mid-morning the birds will return here to rest and preen their feathers. Plus you can sleep a little later!! Also look for areas of heavy cover that ducks can get in so the can rest and hide from over head preditors
